The Firm

Founded in 2016 and headquartered in Portugal, Phyxius is an independent investment management firm focused on generating sustainable excess returns through a fundamental and active investment management approach.

We are focused on alternative investment classes in private markets, such as private equity and venture capital.

In the private equity space, we have a blend (growth or value) investment style that targets mid and small size companies. These target companies should have an international scale (or potential for so), and either represent growth and profitable opportunities or could participate in consolidation processes. Moreover, we analyze restructuring and distressed opportunities with solid asset bases and targets with the potential to generate cash flows in the near term. In this space, we adopt an M&A buy-and-build strategy, considering that these strategies have great potential for creating higher returns when compared with standalone deals.

In the venture capital space, we prefer growth companies that are challenging the traditional business models of incumbent providers, specific opportunities in “blue ocean” markets and/or companies that are managed by pragmatic visionaries.

We also provide privileged access to top of funnel opportunities to invest in tier 1 and 2 global funds managed by third parties. Moreover, we have a privileged access to investment in other asset classes via our specialized advisory and sourcing capabilities.

Finally, we should highlight that Phyxius SCR (private equity firm) and Phyxius FCR (our private equity fund) are dully regulated by The Portuguese Securities Market Commission (CMVM) as you can see here and here (links to CMVM website).
